What are tube bundles? Tube Bundles are actually the inside component of the heat exchanger. This is usually enclosed inside a shell and over a period of years after in operation, the pipes in the tube bundle may leak.
Hence, the best way is to replace the tube bundle in order to save cost instead of fabricating a new set of heat exchangers.
Components inside a tube bundles usually consists of tubesheet, to cover both ends of the shell, fin tubes and baffles.
Here, you will see the assembly of the tube bundle after all the materials are in order
Next, the fin tubes are then welded one by one to the tubesheet. Welders are usually qualified welders complying to ASME Section VIII.
Upon completed, the fin tubes are then tested using the Dye Penetrant Test method to ensure that all the joints are welded accordingly without any leakage.
Once PT Test is completed, the next process is hydrotest leakage test according to the pressure requirement of the customer or the design requirement.
The completed tube bundle will looks like this after it is finished.

Dear sir

I am waitting for your replay ASAP

Hi Steve. We fabricate a temporary shell and insert the tube bundle into the shell and then Hydro test it against leakage. Once confirmed no leakage,w e remove the tube bundle and then send to our customers. Hope this helps. Cheers.
